WHITESNAKE Shoot Down 'Ill Health' Rumors

WHITESNAKE have issued a statement via their web site refuting rumors of show cancellations due to an injury suffered by the band's frontman, David Coverdale. "Nothing could be further from the truth," the group write. "David, and all the band members of WHITESNAKE, are safe and healthy. And they are looking forward to starting the 2004 European Tour on September 3rd in Munich."

WHITESNAKE have also posted a letter from their German promotional company explaining the recent confusion and rumors. It reads as follows:

"There was some confusion in Germany today as a festival near Leipzig had announced WHITESNAKE to appear last Saturday which they never did. They festival was promoted by a motorcycle company that had booked this show through 2 other German companies and the company 'Fabulous German Entertainment' had sold them 'M3 Classic WHITESNAKE', which turned out to be [the new band of former WHITESNAKE members] Bernie Mardsen, Micky Moody and Neil Murray. Apparently it was never made clear to the motorcycle company, that this is not the original WHITESNAKE and it was always advertised as WHITESNAKE. When they pulled out, because of an accident, MZ Motorcycle announced that the singer was seriously injured and could therefore not perform. We are afraid, that this will hurt our ticket sales as we already received some several phone calls from fans."
